Belay


The meaning of the word Belay is: tying a rope to an object to to keep it steady or down. occassionally used to reference climbers who tie ropes to rocks to belay down the mountainside


Examples:

The teenagers belay their surfboards to the top of the car with bungee cords before heading to the beach.
